Compact Power
COMPANY PROFILE:
Compact Power is one of North America’s leading equipment rental companies, providing contractors, work crews, and do-it-yourself customers with a huge assortment of pro-grade tools, equipment, trucks and trailers. Operating for years as the towable outdoor equipment store front for The Home Depot, the company has gone on to launch and develop an extensive service business, leveraging state-of-the-art technology to monitor the condition of equipment – enabling clients to track performance, anticipate repairs, mitigate downtime and establish an industry-leading preventative maintenance and parts management system.
FIELDSTONE’S ROLE:
In 2003, Fieldstone led Compact Power through the first of a series of financings and helped create Compact Power Equipment Rental in 2009. Fieldstone arranged a $50 million asset-based loan facility to help grow the company footprint, which was later increased to $125 million, while the company grew to over $150 million in revenues.
TODAY:
As a part of The Home Depot, Compact Power has expanded to more than 1,100 rental locations throughout the U.S. and Canada, with VIP Onsite Delivery now available in nearly 50 markets. In 2017, the company opened its first freestanding store in Florida. The company’s Equipment Life-Cycle Management program continues to revolutionize the way the rental equipment is managed and maintained. And the Compact Power’s Field Services Professional Team of nearly 300 highly trained technicians now span the entire U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico. In 2017, Fieldstone assisted with the successful sale of Compact Power to The Home Depot for a total valuation of $265 million.
