Landcare USA
COMPANY PROFILE:
LandCare became one of the most comprehensive providers of commercial landscape services in the United States, and the first to be publicly traded. The company’s services include Landscape Management, Landscape Design & Installation, Irrigation & Water Management, and Snow & Ice Management.
FIELDSTONE’S ROLE:
In 1997, Fieldstone initiated the idea to create a national company in the commercial landscape services market. After researching over 50 landscape businesses, Fieldstone brought together seven that became the founding companies, with consolidated pro forma revenues of almost $120 million. Fieldstone went on to help finalize merger agreements that gave birth to a new holding company, LandCare USA. In 1998, Fieldstone helped complete an initial public offering that catapulted LandCare onto the NYSE. Fieldstone continued as an acquisition advisor, helping build the company to over $400 million in revenues. Later, Fieldstone advised in the successful merger with ServiceMaster that led to the formation of TruGreen LandCare. It quickly became the largest commercial landscape company in the nation – with over $1 billion in annual commercial revenues – and represented one of the first “Merge and Build” strategies executed by Fieldstone.
TODAY:
TruGreen LandCare has transitioned to successor ownership but continues to be one of the largest companies in its industry.
